INDIVIDUAL FEELING ABOUT INDONESIAN

Indonesian makes me feel their lifestyle is so slow and they enjoy applying such style to everything. For the instance, they will spend a whole day to discuss about only 1 minor issue with customers or vendors; they are patient enough to wait for something they want, such as, shopping, eating and even toileting.

Also, I would deem that the traffic is a big problem in Indonesia since there is traffic jam everywhere during peak hours. I am not sure whether it is related to the geographic matter in Indonesia. I would not deny that it may also relate to their uneven distribution of population or numbers of vehicles on the road or their enjoyable lifestyles as well.

The traffic problem makes a large obstacle to me since it is very difficult for us to estimate the time to be spent for traffic. As spending time on traffic will come out problem on time cost since we are using time to earn money. I am not saying that we are wasting time but I would emphasize that we had better make good use of time to make our life meaningful as time is a very valuable treasures.

Regarding to experience in meeting with Indonesian, one point I would like to share here is the time concept from Indonesian. They will not have words, “late” or “on time” in their mind. They would just complete the task with their estimated time interval. Sometimes they will make it earlier and sometimes they will be late and sometimes they will just ignore it without any announcement.

It is for sure that there is a big difference in relationship between big company via big company and relationship between big company via small company. In my point of view, I would think that we should try greatest effort to satisfy customer needs no matter they belong to small or big company and that is different to Indonesian culture.
